Moldovan migrant workers who are currently employed or have worked in either the Republic of Moldova or Slovakia will benefit from a new framework of social security guarantees. The first round of negotiations on the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Slovak Republic has concluded, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, under this agreement, citizens will be eligible for various types of pensions, including old-age, disability, and survivor’s pensions.
During the negotiations, both parties reviewed the relevant national legislation and clarified the details of all proposed articles, reaching a consensus on the text of the agreement. They also agreed to begin negotiations in the near future on the Administrative Arrangement, which will regulate the implementation of the bilateral social security agreement.
The negotiation round took place in Chisinau from February 3 to 7.
