Swedish Minister for European Affairs Jessica Rosencrantz is visiting the Republic of Moldova. Today and tomorrow, the official will meet with several representatives of the Moldovan government and will discuss the EU accession process and the country’s resilience, as well as Swedish and EU support for Moldova, IPN reports.
Jessica Rosencrantz will also meet civil society representatives to discuss efforts to strengthen media freedom ahead of the 28 September parliamentary elections.
She will also visit the town of Ialoveni, where he will talk to local people about Sweden’s experience of EU membership.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Swedish government has significantly increased its support for Moldova’s rapprochement with the EU. Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Sweden were established on 12 June 1992.
