MP of the Party of Action and Solidarity Veronica Rosca will lead the Parliament’s Legal Commission for Appointments and Immunities. The decision was taken by Parliament after MP Olesea Stamate on January 19 announced her resignation from the position of chair of the Legal Commission, IPN reports.
Also, in the first sitting of the spring session, Parliament appointed PAS MP Adrian Belyi as chairman of the Commission for Social Protection, Health and Family. Previously, this Commission was headed by Dan Perciun, the current Minister of Education.
Changes were also made to the composition of the Commission on Foreign Policy and European Integration. MP Ina Coseru was appointed as chair of this Commission. The appointment comes after MP Doina German was elected Deputy Speaker of Parliament, replacing Mihai Popșoi. The latter was recently sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The MPs also approved changes in the nominal composition of the Parliament’s Standing Bureau. According to the decision, MPs Olesea Stamate and Mihai Popșoi were excluded from the Standing Bureau, while MPs Ion Groza, Adrian Belyi and Larisa Voloh were included in the Bureau’s composition.
The legislative body of the eleventh legislature has 11 standing commissions. The parliamentary groups name members to standing commissions taking into account their proportional representation in Parliament.
