New investment projects will be implemented in the Republic of Moldova to create new jobs in the key sectors of the economy, which were affected by the regional security situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration has said, referring to the signing by Moldova and France of a convention for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion and tax fraud with respect to taxes on income, IPN reports.
During French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Chisinau, there were signed three bilateral documents designed to strengthen the Moldovan-French relations.
Bedsides the aforementioned document, the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the French Republic signed an agreement on the operations of the French Development Agency, Proparco and Expertise France in Moldova under which the Republic of Moldova will be offered funds for financing national development needs.
The French Development Agency will support development projects in three key areas: reforestation and irrigation; modernization of water simply and sewerage systems; electrical interconnections and energy efficiency in buildings. The rehabilitation and modernization of the Chisinau–Ungheni railway section is an important project in the connection of Moldova’s railways to the European network.
Also, there was signed an agreement concerning the provision by the French Development Agency of a €15 million loan to Moldova to finance state budget needs, including for health and education services and social transfers.
On this occasion, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the bilateral dialogue and to extend cooperation in areas of mutual interest, for the benefit of the citizens of the two countries.
