The Public Services Agencyascertained thatIlan Șor’s identity card issued in 2012 and his passport issued in 2010 were made and issued in his absence, in breach of the law. The papers were declared invalid and were annulled by an order signed by the Agency’s director on November 9, IPN reports, quoting a press release.
The Agency determined that the facial image, personal data and holographic signature of Ilan Șor were used from the information resources of the State Population Register based on a document made in 2009 and the papers were issued to third persons, which is against the legislation on the identification papers of the national passport system.
Under the regulations concerning the making and issuing of identification papers of the national passport system, when filing an application to be issued with an ID, the applicant must have a picture of him/her taken at the local subdivisions of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology or at Moldova’s diplomatic missions or consular offices. The ID is handed over to the holder or the legal representative upon signature.
The Public Services Agencycarried out an investigation after the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office asked to determine if the procedures for issuing IDs to Ilan Șor were respected.
