About 3,800 students in the 12th grade will receive an official grade of 10 in the Foreign Language Baccalaureate exam. According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the number of Baccalaureate candidates who will benefit from this facility has increased by approximately 17% compared to last year. At the same time, for the first time, 112 candidates will receive an official grade of 10 in the Romanian Language and Literature exam for non-native speakers. The decision was approved on Thursday by the National Examinations Commission within the MEC, IPN reports.
The practice of awarding an automatic grade of 10 to the Foreign Language test was introduced in 2015, when 229 students were awarded grades based on certificates attesting to their language skills. At the same time, starting with this year’s exam session, an automatic grade of 10 can also be awarded to the Romanian Language and Literature test for non-native speakers, for candidates who hold a Romanian language certificate at level B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
From the 2024 baccalaureate session, the official grade 10 is also granted to candidates who took international exams for certification of skills in the field of Informatics in grades 10-12. In the 2024 session, 61 candidates benefited from this facility, and in 2025 – 397. According to the MEC, in 2026 – 1136 candidates will receive the official grade 10 in the Informatics exam.
This year’s baccalaureate session will begin on June 2.
