The Trade Union Federation of Education and Science (FSEȘ) is organizing a protest on Wednesday, August 19, in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau, where employees from the education and science system across the country are expected to attend. The unionists demand the authorities to respect the commitment regarding the increase of salaries for teaching staff and auxiliary personnel from September 1, reports IPN.
According to FSEȘ, the protest is driven by the need for real solutions to increase the income of employees in education and science.
The unions also demand a wage policy that allows for the attraction and retention of qualified staff in the system and argue that decent pay is necessary to prevent staff shortages and increase the attractiveness of the teaching profession.
During the protest, the unionists will adopt a resolution and will convey their demands to the authorities.
FSEȘ clarifies that the action is not directed against students, pupils or parents, but aims to defend the right to quality education and recognition of the role of education and science employees.
When asked by IPN for a reaction, the press service of the MEC stated that they would return with a comment.
