The state company Energocom will sell up to 100 million cubic meters of gas to Moldovagaz in order to alleviate the energy crunch caused by the reduction of supplies by Russia’s Gazprom, the Commission for Emergency Situations decided on Friday evening.
Under the decision, Energocom shall conclude an EFET agreement with Moldovagaz which doesn’t require the prior consent of the latter’s board or shareholders. The preliminary price is $1,108.61 per 1,000 m3 and doesn’t include any profit margin for Energocom.
The final price and amounts are to be decided by January 10, based on a calculation of costs incurred by Energocom, with the payment to be made by January 20.
Meanwhile, considering the latest significant changes in energy prices, gas prices in particular, the Commission instructed the Energy Regulatory Agency to carry out an extraordinary readjustment, within three workdays, of electricity and heat charges, save for Termoelectrica’s rates.
