The Child Protection Day that is celebrated on June 1 will be a nonworking day. Parliament adopted a bill to amend the Labor Code after giving it two readings, IPN reports.
The sponsors of the bill are a group of MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity. “By implementing the given amendments to the legislation, we will offer the parents the possibility of celebrating the day together with their children on June 1,” said bill co-author Artemie Cătănoi.
It was also noted that the interests of children should be a priority and all the children need support and attention each day.
International Day for Protection of Children on June 1 is celebrated in almost 50 countries. Another over 100 states observe this day on other dates.
