The mayor of a locality in the Florești district, along with three other individuals, has been detained on suspicion of involvement in a murder committed seven years ago. The victim is a man who was exploited for labor at the mayor’s farm. The investigation was initiated after the victim’s relatives recently approached the authorities and provided details that led to the reopening of the case, reports IPN.
According to the General Inspectorate of Police, the victim worked at the mayor’s farm, who was also in office in 2018. On one of the days, the man was allegedly beaten to death, and the case was allegedly covered up by falsifying the forensic expertise.
To obtain evidence, the investigators ordered the exhumation of the victim and the conduct of a new forensic examination. The results confirmed that the death occurred as a result of maltreatment.
Among the detained individuals are the mayor of the locality, the forensic doctor who allegedly falsified the conclusions of the expertise, and two presumed accomplices. Currently, investigations are underway to determine all the circumstances of the case.
