The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that it is undertaking the necessary steps for the repatriation of the victims of the road accident that occurred in the Halkidiki region of Greece, in which three members of a family of citizens of the Republic of Moldova died. According to the institution, the seven-year-old girl of the family is hospitalized in serious condition and is receiving medical care, reports IPN.

According to the MFA, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Athens is in constant contact with Greek authorities, medical institutions and family members, providing all necessary consular assistance. In addition, the diplomatic mission is monitoring the evolution of the case and coordinating the necessary procedures for the repatriation of the victims.

The accident occurred Wednesday evening near the town of Polygyros in the Halkidiki region, where a car registered in the Republic of Moldova collided head-on with a tanker truck. As a result of the collision, the 28-year-old mother, the 35-year-old father, and their six-month-old daughter were killed.
