Traffic on Alexei Mateevici Street in Chisinau, the section between Banulescu-Bodoni and Pushkin streets, will be suspended starting from 04:00 PM today until tomorrow morning. The measure was taken in the context of the Graduates’ Ball 2026, reports IPN.
The Electric Transport Directorate of Chisinau specifies that, due to traffic restrictions, several trolleybus routes will operate on modified routes. Thus, the trolleybuses on routes no. 7, 12 and 25 will only run up to Columna Street. Also, the transport units on route no. 10 will be redirected to Mitropolit Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni Street – Columna Street – Vasile Alecsandri Street – Telecentru district.
At the same time, the trolleybuses on routes no. 16 and 32 will turn from Mitropolit Gavriil Banulescu-Bodoni Street – Mihail Kogalniceanu Street – Alexandru Pushkin Street. The trolleybuses on route no. 3 will run on Vasile Lupu Street – Constantin Stere Street – Alexei Sciusev Street – Bucuresti Street – Vasile Alecsandri Street.
In addition, the operating schedule of the trolleybuses on routes no. 2, 3, 10, 22, 24, and 25 will be extended until 01:30 AM. They will run at an interval of approximately 15-20 minutes.
Drivers are urged to use alternative routes, to avoid traffic jams.
