Three hundred and twenty trees of different species were illegally cut down on public land in Carpineni. The case was discovered by environmental inspectors from Hancesti, in collaboration with the Hancesti Police Inspectorate, following a complaint from the local public administration, IPN reports.
The Environmental Protection Inspectorate notes that some of the illegally cut timber was found on the spot and will be collected and evaluated. Measures are currently being taken to identify the persons responsible for this crime, who will be held accountable.
According to the Contravention Code, such actions are punishable by a fine of between 24 and 30 conventional units in the case of natural persons, and a fine of between 240 and 300 conventional units in the case of legal entities.
