A 23-year-old inmate, originally from Ukraine, escaped from Penitentiary No. 13 in Chisinau. The fugitive damaged the bars on the window of the administrative block room, where she was assigned to work. Authorities are trying to locate her, according to the National Prison Administration, quoted by IPN.
The incident occurred on Thursday, around 16:48. Immediately after the escape, the prison management declared a state of emergency and initiated specific search actions, in collaboration with the police subdivisions.
“The National Prison Administration collaborates with all authorized institutions to fully clarify the circumstances and return the escaped person to state custody,” announces the ANP.
The prisoner has recently been sentenced by the Court of Chisinau, Buiucani headquarters, on March 31, 2025, under article 42 paragraph (2), 27, 190 paragraph (4) of the Penal Code, to five years in a semi-open prison for women.
