Metropolitan Vladimir has given up displaying governmental license plates on his official car. This was confirmed to IPN by Vadim Cheibaș, secretary of the Moldovan Church.
“There was a lot of pressure, the issue was widely discussed in the press, many expressed their discontent and frustration. In general, there were attempts to induce a state of tension about this. And so His Beatitude said: It is better to avoid situations where people are discontented. His Beatitude does not insist at all on having governmental registration plates on the Church’s car”, stated Cheibaș.
However, he added that he is personally “upset” that someone would object to this. “Metropolitan Vladimir is the head of the Moldovan Church, and as someone who serves this people, he would absolutely deserve enjoying such a perquisite”.
