Thirty-five kilograms of marijuana, assessed at over 7 million lei on the black market, were seized following searches at five clandestine laboratories discovered in Chisinau and Criuleni, IPN reports.
Three men, aged between 36 and 46, are suspected of having organized the illegal activity, using state-of-the-art equipment.
In addition to drugs, equipment for cultivation and processing, money earned from the sale of drugs, bank cards issued in the Russian Federation, a GSM signal jamming device and a homemade modified weapon were seized.
The suspects were arrested for 72 hours. If they are charged and found guilty of drug trafficking, they will serve 7 to 15 years in prison.
