The wave of warm air is leaving the territory of the Republic of Moldova. Nighttime temperatures this week are expected to decline to minus 5°C.
The highest daytime temperature will oscillate between 5°C and 10°C. Gennady Rosca, the head of the State Hydrometeorological Service’s Forecasts Center, has told IPN that such temperatures are close to the normal limits for February, when air temperatures should be at most 5°C.
18°C were recorded in southeastern Moldova during the day on February 19. “The average temperature for this period should vary between 0°C and minus 3°C, but it was by 7-11°C higher than the norm,” stated Gennady Roșca.
At most 12°C were forecast for today, February 22.
The coldest day of February 22 was in 1985, when the meteorological station in Tiraspol registered minus 23.5°C. The warmest day of February 22 was in 1998, when 19.8°C were recorded at the same station.
