Jacana continues to provide assistance for WHO emergency response to address COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in Ukraine and neighboring countries. This is Phase 2 of the financial support of the Asia-Europe Foundation, IPN reports.
The Embassy of Japan in Moldova said that as assistance under the Asia-Europe Foundation Project for Strengthening Preparedness and Response to the COVID-19 and other Emerging Infectious Diseases financed by Japan, the Government of Japan approved the financial support of 10,000,000 USD for WHO emergency response to address COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
Medical devices, medicines, personal protective equipment and others will be provided to displaced people in Ukraine and neighboring countries, such as Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Moldova through the WHO Regional Office for Europe.
This assistance will be offered as Phase 2 of the financial support of (9,500,000 USD) of April 2022 for WHO emergency response to address COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
The goods to be provided include cold chain and other medical equipment, testing kits, medicines, disinfectants and decontaminants, COVID-19 personal protective equipment.
The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) was founded in 1997 in Singapore as a permanent body of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). It engages in activities to enhance mutual understanding between Asia and Europe with a focus on the sociocultural field.
