The mandatory exam at the Baccalaureate in Romania, postponed due to the heatwave

AnnouncementSociety

The written test for the compulsory subject – Mathematics or History – within the Baccalaureate exam in Romania has been postponed due to the red code heatwave warning. The decision was made by the Minister of Education to protect the health of students and teaching staff in the context of extreme temperatures forecasted by meteorologists, IPN reports.

Thus, the written exam, which was initially scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, will take place on Wednesday, July 1. At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Research has clarified that this measure is specific and does not influence the rest of the exam schedule, and in order to limit the impact on the graduates’ plans, all other tests and stages of the Baccalaureate remain unchanged and will be carried out according to the previously established schedule.

In Romania, in addition to oral exams, the Baccalaureate includes three written exams: in Romanian Language and Literature, in the mandatory subject of the profile – Mathematics or History, and in a subject of choice, depending on the profile and specialization. Graduates who have studied in a minority language also take a written exam in their mother tongue and literature.
