Mothers are likely to benefit from health insurance provided by the Government up to the child’s age of two. A relevant proposal to amend the legislation has been formulated, IPN reports, with reference to Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco, IPN reports.
In a post on Facebook, Ala Nemerenco said the list of categories of persons who are medically insured by the Government includes pregnant women who do not have a job and an income when they register with the family doctor. The status of insured person is regrettably suspended immediately after the woman gives birth. Afterward, the women who raise the children do not enjoy free access to health services.
“I consider this is an injustice, especially for young mothers who bring up the future active citizens of the country. […] The health and wellbeing of the small ones depends on the health of the mother and on her good moods,” wrote Minister Ala Nemerenco.
