The Republic of Moldova and Latvia have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of digitization and cyber security, reports IPN. The document aims to develop Moldova’s digital infrastructure, train specialists and exchange experiences to attract European financial resources.

Through the partnership, the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service (STISC) and other government agencies will have access to the European Union’s project management training programs. One of the long-term objectives is the establishment of a national data center in Moldova with methodological support from Latvia.

The project is implemented with the support of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office for Electronic Communications and the Safege Latvija company.

The collaboration between the two states will be presented at the Techritory 2025 forum in Riga, which will take place on October 22-23. During the event, the Moldovan delegation will discuss with Latvian companies the prospects of joint digital projects.

“Our experience shows that even a small country can play a significant role in the global digital transformation. The partnership with Moldova will contribute to strengthening its digital resilience”, noted Techritory Director, Neils Kalniņš.

“Over 90% of public services in Latvia are already available online. We are ready to share this experience with Moldova”, emphasized the director of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, Ieva Jāgere.
