Moldova wants to intensify collaboration with Albania in the context of EU journey, minister

The Republic of Moldova is interested in intensifying collaboration with Albania in the context of the European journey. The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, following the meeting with the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, who is on an official visit to Chisinau, reports IPN.

The MFA mentions that the officials’ discussions focused on strengthening bilateral dialogue and cooperation within the context of EU candidate countries status. Deputy Prime Minister Popsoi appreciated Albania’s experience in the accession process and its willingness to support the Republic of Moldova.

“Albania is an important partner for the Republic of Moldova, and its expertise in the field of European integration represents valuable support for our reform efforts. We are interested in intensifying collaboration through exchanges of expertise and best practices”, declared Mihai Popsoi.

The discussions focused on regional cooperation and coordination of positions in multilateral formats, considered essential for stability, security, and sustainable development. Furthermore, the parties discussed expanding economic and commercial cooperation, with an emphasis on tourism, investments, and increasing exchanges between business environments.

According to the MAE, President Bajram Begaj appreciated the nature of bilateral relations and expressed his country’s commitment to support the European path of the Republic of Moldova.
