The Chisinau City Hall will install tents equipped with drinking water and medical aid points in various areas of the city, in the context of the predicted heatwave. The teams will operate between 10:00 AM and 03:00 PM, with the possibility of extending the schedule depending on the evolution of weather conditions, reports IPN.

At the operational meeting of the municipal services, Mayor Ion Ceban announced that the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance will be responsible for organizing triage points for people affected by the heatwave. At the same time, medical institutions will be involved in monitoring the health status of the population during the heatwave.

In addition to water distribution and first aid provision, the mayor requested the responsible parties to check the functionality of public fountains, irrigation systems, as well as infrastructure in recreational areas, including beaches, lakes and rivers in the city. At the same time, he asked for the monitoring of children’s holiday camps.

In light of the nationwide heat wave warnings, authorities have stepped up measures to mitigate the effects of the heat wave. Previously, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations set up 14 assistance stations where citizens can receive drinking water and help in case of problems caused by high temperatures.
