The head of the General Directorate of Urban Mobility of the Chisinau City Council and his deputy have been remanded in custody for 30 days. The National Anti-Corruption Center announces that all 7 persons, detained by the NAC and prosecutors, in cases related to fraudulent public procurement in Chisinau, have been placed under arrest. The decision was handed down by the Chisinau District Court, Ciocana.
Arrest warrants were also issued for four representatives of economic agents, and one of them was placed under house arrest.
Thus, the 6 defendants, in whose names a pre-trial arrest warrant has been issued, are to be transferred to Penitentiary No. 13.
The two civil servants and five representatives of legal entities were detained by the NAC following more than 60 searches carried out in 30 criminal cases, which were based on corruption committed by those responsible for public procurement processes in complicity with several economic agents.
All persons are presumed innocent until a final and irrevocable court decision. Investigations in this case are continuing.
