A second-floor ward of the Clinical Psychiatric Hospital in Codru town of the municipality of Chisinau took fire on Thursday morning. Press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Liliana Pușcașu has told IPN that rescuers of the Inspectorate helped the police to put out the fire. An investigation is under way to determine all the circumstances.
Seven firefighting teams became involved in the fire and rescue operation that was started outside the building and was later continued inside to localize the internal sources. The firefighters ensured fire guard and the support needed by the involved institutions.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the fire was put out at 8:18am. No one was hurt in this.
