The initiative group set up by the Party of Action and Solidarity submitted to the Central Election Commission the subscription lists with the signatures collected in support of the presidential candidate Maia Sandu. Incumbent President Maia Sandu came together with the leader of the initiative group, lawyer Eduard Digore, IPN reports.
Former prosecutor general Alexandr Stoianoglo is the only aspirant who brought the subscription lists with signatures to the Commission. He was already registered as a candidate for office of President.
In total, the Central Election Commission has registered 13 initiative groups to support candidates in the presidential election. The subscription lists with signatures are to be submitted by September 20. The Commission has seven days to verify the signatures and decide whether to register or not the applicant as a candidate for the post of President of the Republic of Moldova.
