The national football team of Moldova won the first victory after a pause of two years, defeating the similar squad of Azerbaijan 1-0 at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau, IPN reports.
The only goal was scored by Vitalie Damașcan in the eighth minute. Moldova manager Roberto Bordin used the next players: Avram, Bolohan (Potîrniche 64), Posmac, Armaș, Jardan, Rață (Spătaru 59), Dros, Belousov, Costrov (Anton 46), Platica (Dumbravanu 90), Damașcan (Nicolaescu 58).
“It is an important victory we have awaited long. It is the merit of my guys,” said Roberto Bordin, who scored the first victory as the coach of Moldova.
On September 1, Moldova plays Austria in Chisinau.
