Traffic inspectors recorded over 2,000 violations of traffic rules at the end of last week. The majority, 1,102, involved exceeding the speed limit, IPN reports.
Law enforcement officers identified 52 drivers under the influence of alcohol, and in 295 cases, drivers were caught in prohibited areas. Another 379 drivers failed to comply with priority road signs and traffic signal restrictions.
Additionally, patrol inspectors found 52 drivers not wearing seat belts, 63 driving vehicles without undergoing the required annual technical inspection, and 101 drivers were fined for failing to yield to pedestrians or cyclists.
Patrol police responded to 314 cases, based on requests received through the single emergency number 112.
