Over 11 thousand “Green Card” insurance certificates were processed through the RCAData informational system in May. The National Bank of Moldova emphasizes that “this is an unprecedented result, which marks a radical transformation compared to the situation from a year ago, in May 2024, when the market was only able to process 239 external RCA policies in a semi-automated system,” IPN reports.
“This significant increase demonstrates the efficiency of the digital tools provided by the National Bank of Moldova, which offered the market the necessary infrastructure for the automated processing of mandatory auto liability insurance contracts, both domestically and internationally,” the institution stated in a press release.
Starting with January 1 of the current year, the “Green Card” certificate is being issued in a new format. It can be presented in a digital format, without the need for a printed form or paper support.
“This development in the insurance sector highlights the ability of the Moldovan market to quickly adopt innovative technological solutions provided by BNM and to align with international standards in the field of digital financial services,” the cited source mentioned.
