In the municipality of Chisinau, the schools with a vaccination rate of about 70% will return to the normal regime of studies, with the physical presence of children at school, mayor Ion Ceban announced on April 12. The education process in classrooms at all the institutions is planned to be resumed on September 1, IPN reports.
According to the mayor, 30% of the teachers have been vaccinated so far. “We will continue to ensure the immunization of teaching staff of schools and lyceums and of the personnel of preschool education institutions. I asked the Education Division to focus primarily on the preschool and primary (first-fourth grades) stages,” Ion Ceban stated din the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions.
Tatiana Bucharski, head of the General Social Assistance and Health Division, said that the number of cases of COVID-19 in the municipality has decreased. The hospitalization capacity is of 1,655 beds plus 200 triage beds. Of the 1,006 patients who are now in the hospitals, 62 are in a very serious state, while 510 are in a serious state.
