Tamara Gheorghița appointed secretary general of Parliament

Tamara Gheorghița was named secretary general of Parliament. Speaker Igor Grosu signed the order on September 9, IPN reports.

According to the Parliament’s press service, the new secretary general is a doctor of administrative sciences with an experience of over 20 years in the management of human resources, assessment of performance and recruitment of employees. She also has over 15 years’ experience in the public service reform, being involved in the drafting of human resources management policies.

In 2019, Tamara Gheorghița served as adviser to the Prime Minister on public administration. She also worked for the State Chancellery as division head, deputy division head of and senior consultant. In 2015 – 2017, she was university lector at the Public Administration Academy.

In accordance with the Parliament’s regulations, the secretary general is named to post by the Speaker, with the preliminary consent of the Standing Bureau and with the appraisal of the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities.
