Ministry of Education examines the option of reintroducing grades in fourth grade

The Ministry of Education and Research is examining the option of reintroducing grades in some subjects taught in fourth grade. The initiative was announced by Minister Dan Perciun, IPN reports.

According to the minister, this is intended to make the transition to the fifth grade, when grades appear, less complicated, given that the student goes from interacting with a single teacher to interacting with several teachers and at the same time grades appear, with which he was not familiarized previously.

“For these reasons, we could introduce grades in some subjects so that the adaptation period is longer and in a friendly and familiar environment for children,” said Dan Perciun.

Primary school pupils are no longer assessed by grades, but by grades and performance descriptors since 2015.
