The Republic of Moldova has new ambassadors to Estonia, the Czech Republic, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Latvia, and Austria. The six candidates were accepted by the Cabinet on Tuesday, IPN reports.
Eugen Caras was appointed ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Estonia, Gabriela Moraru – to the Czech Republic, Mihaela Mocanu – to Latvia, being recalled as ambassador to Austria. Anatolie Vangheli was named ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. Victoria Roșa will serve as ambassador to Austria, while Oleg Nica, who was recalled as consul general of the Republic of Moldova in the city of Milan, was appointed ambassador to Italy.
The six candidates are career diplomats with 18-29 years of experience in diplomatic service. In the Cabinet’s ordinary meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the appointments aim to strengthen the bilateral relations with the partner states, defend the rights of the Moldovan citizens in these states and boost the economic and cultural diplomacy.
The six diplomats will take up their duties after the signing of the relevant presidential decrees.
