A church in Călărași town was engulfed in flames. The fire spread both inside the building and over the roof. The firefighters struggled to contain the blaze for over two hours.
This is the church located at 1 A Grigorie Ureche St in Călărași. The call to the 112 Service was made at 10:30am. The flames covered an area of about 200 square meters. Five firefighting vehicles were detached to the scene.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said that no one was hurt in the fire. They managed to save another building situated nearby, which is 40 square meters in area.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, the Inspectorate’s press officer Liliana Pușcașu said the fire was localized in about 40 minutes and was fully extinguished in over two hours of the moment it broke out. The cause of fire is yet to be found out.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, last Sunday and this Monday the rescuers and firefighters dealt with about 40 situations of risk.
