The period for executing the works specified in the financing agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on the development of rural areas in Moldova could be extendedby 29 months. The members of the Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration approved the consultative opinion on the initiation of negotiations on the issue, IPN reports.
The budget of works remains the same, of over €60 million.
The financing agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union on the development of rural areas in Moldova was signed in 2017.
The goal of the agreement is to implement 18 infrastructure projects, ten of which center on water supply and sewerage, while eight on the energy efficiency of public buildings. This way, over 112,000 citizens will gain access to improved water supply and sewerage service, while more than 5,000 students will be able to study in better conditions.
