The President of the European ParliamentRoberta Metsola will make a working visit to Chisinau on November 11. The announcement was posted in the official’s agenda on the European Parliament, IPN reports.
According to the agenda, the official will have meetings with senior officials and will give an address at the Special Plenary Session of the Parliament of Moldova. In an interview with Romanian press recently, Roberta Metsola said the Republic of Moldova needs to be devoted special attention as, besides being vulnerable due to the border with Ukraine and electricity supply issues, it faces a situation when a hostile opposition can anytime take a step forward.
The European official noted that when the war in Ukraine started, the Republic of Moldova became extremely vulnerable and the European community’s decision to grant the candidate status to the two countries is beneficial.
The President of the European CommissionUrsula von der Leyen announced trough social media on November 6 that she will visit Moldova in the middle of this week.
