The price of gasoline COR 95 is close to 33 lei/liter, while of diesel fuel to 30 lei/liter. The National Agency for Energy Regulation said the unprecedented rise in the price ceilings can be explained by the recovery of the world economies following the pandemic and, consequently, the unbalancing of the equilibrium between supply and demand and by the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, which perturbed the traditional logistical chains and partially excluded the Russian oil products from the Western markets, IPN reports.
For Thursday, the price ceiling of gasoline COR 95 was set at 32.93 lei, up 0.34 lei on Wednesday. The price ceiling for diesel fuel will be 29.87 lei, up 0.57 lei on today.
The Agency noted that it daily monitors the supplies of oil products kept by importing companies in storehouses and at the moment these are sufficient for covering the current needs of the national economy and the citizens. There are cases when some of the filling stations lack one product or another, but this is not a systemic phenomenon and is influenced rather by the difficult logistical situation at Moldova’s border crossing points witnessed the last few days.
