A boy, 4, drowned in Cubolta River near his home in Baroncea village, Drochia district.
His mother, 25, called 112 to report him missing. The police teamed up with the locals to hold a search party, eventually finding the boy’s dead body in the river not far from his home.
This year, the Emergencies Inspectorate recorded 20 drowning deaths, including 3 minors, in the country’s bodies of water.
