Moldovagaz will continue to ensure the supply of natural gas to the Transnistrian region until the end of the current year. The National Agency for Energy Regulation has extended the designation of the company as the responsible entity, in the context of the expiration of this period on June 30, reports IPN.
In accordance with the current regulatory framework, the entity responsible for supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region is obliged to create and maintain stocks of natural gas intended for consumers in the Transnistrian region.
ANRE states that the measure is necessary for the uninterrupted maintenance of existing operational and contractual mechanisms, including transportation, balancing, flexibility services.
Moldovagaz has been designated as the entity responsible for supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region starting from September 1, 2025, for an initial period until March 31, 2026, a term that was subsequently extended.
