The former head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ana Taban was named Ambasador of the Republic of Moldova to India, with residence in New Delhi. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.

Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, said that Ana Taban has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration for over ten years. She served as ambassador for special missions responsible for economic diplomacy.

“For our country, it is extremely important to develop relations of partnership and friendship with the Republic of India so as to foster the commercial relations and to exploit new markets. The appointment is based on these reasons,” noted Nicu Popescu.
