Update: The three bomb threats made against the Chisinau International Airport, the Buiucani Court of Chisinau and the Chisinau Appeals Court turned out to be hoaxes. The police said no explosives or banned objects were found during the checks. Measures are being taken to identify the caller.
New bomb scares were made on November 9 through the 112 Emergency Service, this time against the Chisinau International Airport and two courts of law. All the specialized services travelled to the scenes for examinations, IPN reports.
The Chisinau Electric Transport Company said that the schedule of trolleybuses running on routes near the Airport was disrupted.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the three phone calls were made from the same phone number. Besides the Chisinau International Airport, the bomb threats targeted the Buiucani Court of Chisinau and the Chisinau Appeals Court.
In summer, the Chisinau International Airport was the target of bomb hoaxes almost daily and the authorities as a result took measures to restrict access to the airport’s terminals. Only the personnel and travellers have access to this now.
