Seasonal workers will be registered online, and the days worked will be taken into account when determining the contribution period for the pension. The e-Zilier platform, launched on Monday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, allows for the electronic record of the activities carried out by day laborers, including the registration of hours worked and remuneration, replacing paper-based registers, reports IPN.
According to the authorities, the information within the platform will be automatically transmitted to the National House of Social Insurance, and the related contributions will be included in the calculation of pensions and other social rights.
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Natalia Plugaru, noted that the platform aims to reduce bureaucracy, increase transparency and decrease informal employment, especially in the agricultural sector, where seasonal work remains widespread. The Minister mentioned that in the previous year, approximately 8,000 people were identified as being employed without legal forms, of which around 7,300 were put on contract.
The authorities specify that the platform does not introduce new taxes and does not modify the current fiscal regime or the way seasonal work is taxed. The system transfers in digital format the procedures that until now were carried out on paper. “The purpose of this platform is very simple – less paper, less bureaucracy and more field work”, declared the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Ludmila Catlabuga.
The platform can be accessed through the government service MPass, at the address zilieri.gov.md. Beneficiaries of the works will be able to generate electronic vouchers, which will include information about the performed activity, the work period, the number of hours and the remuneration granted. The data can be exported in Excel format or used to generate the necessary tax reports.
According to the authorities, each digital voucher will represent an official confirmation of the activity carried out and will contribute to the record of the day laborers’ contribution period. The platform, which has been operational since June 1, already has over 2,000 day laborers registered. The authorities aim to have at least 6,000 of them by the end of the year.
