The exams for graduating from the middle school cycle will be held in acentralized format, and the “Be Honest” campaign, launched last year in 8 districts, will be expanded nationwide. On exam days, volunteer observers will be present in all educational institutions across the country, and the exam papers will be checked centrally, rather than at the district level as it was before, IPN reports.
According to the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, students will have three chances, instead of two, to take the graduation exam.
Additionally, 6,000 students will benefit from free extra hours of preparation for the math exam. In the same context, the “Help a Classmate” campaign will be launched, encouraging high school students to support their middle school peers in preparing for the math exam.
The Minister added that this year, for the first time, there will be centralized exams and external evaluations for several specialized subjects at colleges: accounting, tourism, merchandise, and business administration. Approximately 12,000 students from 20 vocational institutions will participate in this exercise.
The Minister also mentioned that this year a national campaign will be launched to combat informal payments, and the government payment system will continue to be implemented as a legal alternative for transparent parental involvement in the financing of schools and kindergartens. The first 130 schools are already part of this system, and in 2025, its use will be expanded to more institutions.
According to Dan Perciun, the first version of the new curriculum will be introduced this year and will be implemented in 2027. At the end of the year, draft curricula will be presented for public discussions.
