Zimbru Chisinau have reached the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round. The team trained by Lilian Popescu beat La Fiorita of San Marino 1-0 owing to the goal scored from outside the square by 36-year-old Ukrainian halfback Denys Dedechko, IPN reports.
Zimbru needed a victory after the first match ended by 1-1. In the next round, the yellow-greens meet the Turkish team Fenerbahce Istanbul, which this summer signed Edin Dzeko and Dusan Tadic.
Another Moldovan team, Milsami, failed to qualify for the second round of the UEFA Europa League. In the return game played in Orhei, the team trained by Sergey Dubrovin lost to Lithuania’s Panevezys 0-1.
