Sergiu Gurduza, appointed ambassador to Portugal. Mihai Mitu will represent Moldova in Serbia and Montenegro as well

Sergiu Gurduza has been appointed ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Portugal. A decree to this effect was signed by President Maia Sandu, reports IPN.

At the same time, the head of state appointed Mihai Mitu, the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Romania, to the position of ambassador, cumulatively, to the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro. His residence will be in Bucharest.

Sergiu Gurduza has over 16 years of experience in the fields of justice, good governance, and foreign relations. He previously served as the Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Istanbul.

Mihai Mitu is a career diplomat with nearly 20 years of experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in foreign missions. He was the general secretary of the ministry and led the protocol of the Presidential Office. He served as a diplomat in Romania, the USA and the Nordic countries. He presented his letters of accreditation for the position of ambassador in Bucharest at the beginning of March.
