Dozens of children eligible for adoption are waiting for a family in the city of Chisinau. At the beginning of June, the municipal authorities had 77 children registered for adoption, of which 39 are girls and 38 are boys, reports IPN.

The data from the General Directorate for Child Rights Protection shows that some of them have brothers and sisters who are usually adopted together. It is about 32 children from 11 families: two with four siblings each, four families with three siblings each, and five families with two siblings each. Five of them have special needs.

Also, according to the authorities, there are 16 children with special needs who have adoptable status and are looking for a family. At the same time, the adoption procedure is already underway for another 14 minors. Among them, four are waiting for the completion of the necessary documents from the people who have filed adoption applications. One child is in the stage of identifying a family, and for another, the possibility of an international adoption is being examined.

At the same time, three minors have already been entrusted to the families who are going to adopt them. In the case of five children, the international adoption files are currently in court. At present, there are no national adoption files under examination in court.

The Chisinau City Hall has launched a new appeal to those who wish to adopt. The authorities emphasize that adoption offers children the chance to grow up in a stable and safe family environment and encourages those interested to inform themselves about the necessary procedures.
