The Parliament Building of the Republic of Moldova was illuminated in the colors of the United States flag, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the proclamation of US independence. According to the legislature, the gesture marks the friendly and cooperative relations between the Republic of Moldova and the US, reports IPN.
At the same time, the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, sent a congratulatory message to the American people, emphasizing that the United States has always stood by the Republic of Moldova in its 35 years of independence.
“Step by step, we have built roads, modernized schools and kindergartens, expanded access to water and sewage, and made significant strides in strengthening our energy independence and democratic institutions,” declared the president of the legislature.
On July 4, 1776, the United States of America adopted the Declaration of Independence, a document that laid the foundation for the formation of the American state.
