The situation on the fuel market in the Republic of Moldova remains critical, but is kept under control by the authorities. The statement was made by the director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation, Alexei Taran, reports IPN.
During the show “Территория Свободы” with Lilia Burakovski, he reminded that, during the previous energy crisis, the fuel stocks at the filling stations were depleted very quickly. According to him, within two to three weeks, over a hundred gas stations were closed due to lack of fuel.
“Currently, the situation is critical, but manageable. Restrictions have been introduced on the sale of fuels: each driver can fill a tank and can additionally purchase up to 40 liters in containers. These measures have quickly halted panic buying,” declared Taran.
According to this, the number of filling stations where fuel is temporarily unavailable is decreasing. If on Tuesday there were 70 such gas stations, on Wednesday their number dropped to 63 due to new fuel deliveries.
The ANRE Director further stated that the Prime Minister had a meeting with the representatives of the oil companies, asking them for cooperation and better coordination of activities to stabilize the market situation.
