Starting November 1 and until March 31, drivers are obliged to travel with their vehicles’ dipped beam headlights on even during the day, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said that this measure is essential for the prevention of road accidents, especially during the unstable weather conditions specific to the cold season. “Keep in mind that rain, fog and other natural phenomena can considerably affect visibility in traffic,” warns the Inspectorate.
The police urge traffic participants to exercise maximum caution on the road. Maintaining a greater distance between vehicles and making sure that every maneuver is safe can prevent unpleasant incidents and ensure the safety of all road users.
Under the Contravention Code, the failure to turn on the dipped beam headlights during the daytime, according to the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulations, is punished with a fine of 150 to 300 lei.
