Elections in municipality of Balti are valid

More than 20,000 voters have cast their ballots in the municipality of Balti in the general local elections. This is 20% of the voting-eligible population and the elections there are therefore valid, IPN reports.

The election threshold in Balti was reached at about 16:35 p.m.

Compared with the first round of voting, the turnout of voters in the municipality of Balti in the runoffs is lower. Over 15% of the voters cast their ballots there by 3 p.m., as against 16% at the same hour in the current runoffs.

In accordance with the Electoral Code, the local runoffs are considered valid if at least 1/5 of the eligible voters marked their ballots in each of the constituencies.
